No more!

I've got my iMac with its brand new screen sitting on my desk. No more forty-two lines, no more single dead pixel!

Repair is guaranteed for the next tree months. Touch wood nothing EVER happens to it!

What they've done? Just screen replacement. It took my apple store two weeks to have it fixed.

Any questions? I'd be glad to answer!

Still have your screen like trash? call apple. call apple. call apple!!! just don't give up, each operator is very different from the other. You might not get what you want on first call, but be sure apple IS fixing this problem!

I am having the same issues with my iMac and I saw this blog and I can't thank you enough for giving me the courage to keep calling them. I am currently going to Gainesville tomorrow to get my iMac's LCD replaced. I'm ecstatic about the fact that I'll be able to play World of Warcraft now without the lines all over the screen.. I know I know... that sounds bad, but its true! :-)

Just to clarify, even though Apple reps often say "3 months" the actual guarantee period is 90 days to be 100% exact.

I called today and they said that it has been over 3 years since I have bought the computer and they wouldn't do anything about it. What should i do?

I know it's very frustrating when what you hear doesn't match what you expect. I would reccomend you to give it one more try. No success? One more try! No success? Once again!!

Be patient and make yourself clear: this is NOT your fault. Screens all over the world failed with one clear connection! W860--U2N, that is if you belong to that range. Or a wider group, general 17'' iMacs (either g5 or intel). I repeat, you did nothing wrong! factory problems aren't your responsability and so you should not carry with ANY cost of the fix. I believe in some cases apple agreed to pay half of the fix. Just ask for a fair treat here. We all payed the same for our iMacs, and some of us got ours fixed. Be kind over the phone, but ask for what's yours. I'm no better than any as to have had my mac fixed free of charge.

Good luck on your next call!

This blog was a great help to me! Thank you for your advice. I called the mac technical support line and they knew about the issue with my screen and scheduled an appointment for me at a local mac store. They are now replacing my LCD free of charge! What a blessing!
